Fishing and Boating

Fishing can be enjoyed on our Loch Na Marag in the Castle grounds or alternatively, hire a ghillie and go further afield with a boat on a loch and fish for salmon or trout.

Loch Garry has some of the best Wild Brown Trout fishing to be found anywhere in Scotland.

Boats and outboard motors are available for hire. The charges are £30.00 per day for a boat for up to three persons and £20.00 extra if you require an outboard motor. Rods and tackle are also available for hire at a cost of between £10.00 and £30.00 per day.

A specialised 15ft Lomand boat is available for fly fishing on Lochs Lochy, Garry and Quoich at a cost of £125.00 to £150.00 per day, depending on location.

Deep water trolling, spinning and bait fishing on these lochs is from a fully kitted Orkney 520 accompanied by the ghillie at a cost of £150.00 to £175.00 per day. All the specialised tackle required is supplied.

Kinloch Hourn provides us with some outstanding sea fishing for Thorneback Ray, Pollock, Skate, Wrasse, Dogfish, Gernard, Cod, Conger and in season good Mackerel. Sea fishing sessions on an 18ft. Plymouth Pilot, including all tackle can be arranged at a cost of £125.00 - £150.00 per day.

Tuition in fly casting and fishing can be arranged at a cost of £60.00 to £85.00 per day depending upon fishing location. Fishing for Trout and Salmon is available on the upper River Garry on a day ticket basis, the quality of fishing is dependant on water levels.
