Accessibility
We want every guest to feel welcome, and our team will always do everything we can to help you enjoy our beautiful castle to the fullest.
Before You Arrive
Please note that, as our buildings are Grade B listed, there are some limitations to the accessibility features we can provide. The information below outlines each of our accommodation options to help you select the most suitable room.
Main Castle
Bedrooms: No ground-floor rooms and no lift available, so we do not recommend these for guests requiring step-free access.
Public areas: Dining rooms and lounges are located on the ground floor. A portable ramp can be provided to assist with entry and exit.
Toilets: A ground-floor toilet is available, but it is not wheelchair accessible.
Walled Garden
Bedrooms: Five ground-floor rooms are available.
Fully wheelchair-accessible room: Only one small double room, Clelland Barrie, is fully wheelchair accessible. Please notify us in advance if you require this room, as it cannot be guaranteed without prior arrangement.
Access to main hotel: Approximately a 5-minute walk up a steep incline. We can provide complimentary transport by golf buggy, or you are welcome to drive between the buildings.
Gate Lodge
No ground-floor rooms and not suitable for wheelchairs. We do not recommend this option for guests requiring accessible accommodation.
Factors Inn & Pub
Bedrooms: No ground-floor rooms and no lift.
Pub: Located on the ground floor and includes a wheelchair-friendly toilet.
Access to main hotel: Approximately a 10-minute walk uphill with several speed bumps. We recommend travelling by car between the buildings.
We’re always happy to talk through your needs. You can contact us by phone, email, or online if you have any questions about the accommodation or our booking process. Please let us know of any specific requirements in advance so we can do our best to assist.
Getting Settled
When booking, we can provide guidance on where to park and how to access your accommodation. Our team will gladly collect your luggage from your car and deliver it to your room to help you settle in comfortably.
Our Facilities
If you need anything during your stay, reception is always here to help. We can provide detailed information about room facilities, access routes, and shared hotel areas.
Please note that, due to the listed status of the building, our public areas do not include accessible toilets, with the exception of the country pub (seasonal).
